About this ingredient
Climbazole works against Malassezia, the yeast associated with dandruff and seborrhoeic scalp conditions. Because it is poorly water soluble it is normally pre-dissolved in a solvent such as propylene glycol, a glycol ether or a cosmetic ester before being added to the batch. It is frequently paired with zinc pyrithione or piroctone olamine for broader coverage.
Benefits
- Effective against Malassezia at low use levels
- Substantive to hair and scalp after rinsing
- Works in both rinse-off and leave-on formats
- Combines well with zinc pyrithione and piroctone olamine
Applications
- Anti-dandruff shampoos
- Scalp tonics, serums and leave-in treatments
- Conditioners with anti-dandruff claims
- Face and body washes for fungal-prone skin

The COA is generated from our current product data and reports conformance against the standard specification — a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis carrying the measured values, batch number and dates is issued with each consignment. TDS and SDS are shared on request. More on how we document.
