About this ingredient

Climbazole works against Malassezia, the yeast associated with dandruff and seborrhoeic scalp conditions. Because it is poorly water soluble it is normally pre-dissolved in a solvent such as propylene glycol, a glycol ether or a cosmetic ester before being added to the batch. It is frequently paired with zinc pyrithione or piroctone olamine for broader coverage.

Benefits

  • Effective against Malassezia at low use levels
  • Substantive to hair and scalp after rinsing
  • Works in both rinse-off and leave-on formats
  • Combines well with zinc pyrithione and piroctone olamine

Applications

  • Anti-dandruff shampoos
  • Scalp tonics, serums and leave-in treatments
  • Conditioners with anti-dandruff claims
  • Face and body washes for fungal-prone skin

Documentation

The COA is generated from our current product data and reports conformance against the standard specification — a batch-specific Certificate of Analysis carrying the measured values, batch number and dates is issued with each consignment. TDS and SDS are shared on request. More on how we document.
